“A recently restored 18th-century country house hotel and spa set in sixteen acres. Snack pantries, an outdoor pool and horse-drawn barge trips join all the usual suspects of a 21st century re-imagined pile - four-posters and roll-top baths. Contemporary details, fun, affordable & family friendly.”

Hotel review

An 18th century country house set within rolling lawns, Elcot Park looks like the plush pad of a particularly well-heeled friend. The vibe inside is similarly cosy – guests are welcomed with a free drink next to a roaring open fire, and stylish social spaces are peppered with plush chairs and original artworks. Bedrooms range from classic doubles to three magnificent suites – all featuring super-high thread count linens, Bramley toiletries in the bathrooms and access to a pantry stocked with soft drinks and treats like Tyrells crisps and home-made cookies. Next level breakfasts – the poached eggs on smashed avocado is a standout dish – are served in the light-filled 1772 Brasserie; alternatively, there’s a pan-Asian restaurant Yu. The hotel’s lovely setting really comes into its own during the warmer months, when guests congregate on the grass to play giant Jenga or badminton. However, the spa and heated infinity pool can be enjoyed year-round.
