It’s all about crackling fires and contemporary bedrooms, welly boots and muddy paws at this 16th-century village inn. Guests can also go llama trekking through the scenic Surrey Hills knowing a warm return is waiting for them.

The name of every landlord since 1701 is inscribed on the interior of this venerable village inn. The locals turn up for home-brew cider and a weekly meat raffle, while hikers stop or come for llama treks across the Surrey Hills with the Harriers’ resident pack of Andean camelids.
