Lancashire’s historic role in the Industrial Revolution means there are many impressive early industrial sites littered across the county. And many great pubs which served the communities and were part of this fascinating point in history. Now Lancashire’s best pubs with rooms and coaching inns provide a comfortable and friendly place to stay for visitors, but many of them have great stories beyond their locally sourced menus and wonderful rural views. Our Gurus have been selective about recommending Lancashire’s 10 best pubs with rooms, but if you know of one they’ve missed then they’d love to hear about it and pay a visit.
Lancashire is big, undulating and rural, and most of its visitors are heading for Manchester, the powerhouse, Georgian Lancaster or fading seaside grand dame, Blackpool. But if you’re not heading to one of these big name destinations, then you’re free to discover the quieter pleasures of this county. Like the beautiful Ribble Valley, adjacent to the Yorkshire Dales, but a visual prelude to the Lake District, and Pendle Hill.
