Built in 1886, this handsome villa has been run as a B&B since 1937 though the charming young family that now owns and manages it took over in 2003. It’s out of the centre in a peaceful residential district that is well-served by trains and trams. A ten-minute walk brings you to the delightfully Teutonic Schloss Nymphenburg, surrounded by a glorious park and well worth a visit. The villa’s 23 fresh, white-painted rooms are simply but attractively done out with wooden furniture and brass bedsteads, each one slightly different from the next. All are well equipped and terrifically good value, and though some are quite small, there are three large rooms perfect for families. Hosts Alexandra and Sebastian Rösch are unfailingly caring and kind, and provide a number of thoughtful extras including drinks in the lobby. Car parking is available.
