Walls of bougainvillea introduce you to this hotel, a cluster of separate buildings rendered in sundrenched Moorish red and set amidst densely planted terraces. There are two pools, one, luxurious and secluded, the other a delight for families. Relaxation is complete in the spa, hammam with a hectare of intoxicating, mature garden complete with olive and argan trees. By night the place comes alive with a myriad candles and lanterns. Drinks before a log fire are a prelude to a Moroccan dinner in one of two dining rooms. An international menu is served during the day. Accommodation is offered in the main building, in private bungalows or larger villas. Rooms are spacious with fresh linen and a nod to the owner’s eclectic taste in art and tadelakt bathrooms have Moorish motifs. The whole complex can accommodate up to 100 guests for parties and weddings. An oasis with a youthful feel; 45 young staff, including the delightful French couple who manage it, create a vibrant, relaxed yet up-beat atmosphere.
