Tucked away down a quiet residential road in North Goa, The Project Café, Goa looks more like a home than a hotel. Its four rooms, each decorated by a different designer, all channel effortless modern charm. They are simple, no mod-cons here, but large and breezy, and with those thick Portuguese style walls, you'll barely need to use the AC, even in the summer months. Original bolted wooden doors, terracotta tiles, and "nacre" shutters all add to the character. Collaborating with local artists, chefs, designers, musicians, and much more, there is always something new on the cards (and the menu). Guests, visitors, and collaborators alike are encouraged to mingle in its sunny outdoor café or vaulted restaurant. Simple, healthy, largely European dishes are served, plus you are right by one of Goa's most iconic restaurants, Gunpowder. The nearest beach is Anjuna, under a 20-minutes drive, and there's also an inviting outdoor pool. This is residential, non-touristy Goa at its best. A hidden gem in the truest sense.
