Vana Belle promises to provide a bridge between the stresses of ordinary life and heavenly bliss – and the hotel works hard to deliver. Upon entering the property, staff bathe your hands in jasmine-scented water before leading you to the striking open-air reception to check in. Each of the spacious suites, which boast their own private plunge pool and an enormous bed set square in the centre of the room, come well-equipped with all the modern amenities you’d expect from a luxury hotel. But while the hotel aims to cultivate relaxation, it also encourages guests to explore a little more of local culture during their stay. A changing array of complimentary cultural activities include making a blessing with a local Buddhist monk, or workout classes for the more physically inclined.
