Travel Information
- You can visit Bregenz year-round depending on why you're going! For enjoying the lake and hiking in the mountains, the summer months (June-September) are the best times to visit. July and August experience average temperatures of 19°C but it may be fairly busy at this time, so if you want to avoid fellow tourists then consider visiting in September — when the temperature's still roughly 16°C or so. The Festival usually runs from mid-July to mid-August.
- The winter brings lots of fresh snow, perfect for skiing in the resorts nearby, with temperatures close to 0°C. The ski season lasts roughly from late November to late April.
- International visitors can fly into Zürich Airport, which is about 55 miles away across the border in Switzerland. However, Bregenz is also well connected by rail.
