Tuck into a tasty breakfast in the huge open-air dining room before setting off along the sand — in season, the sea on Sri Lanka’s east coast is famously clear and calm, and the huge, quiet bay is pure magic. Try your hand at jet-skiing or waterskiing, peer at the iridescent fish flitting along on the reef whilst snorkelling or diving, or simply unwind at the Anilana Spa. Round off a blissful day with cocktails on the terrace and a superb Batticaloa prawn curry, before strolling down to the beach to stare up at a sky full of stars.
