“Enchanting family-run inn perched on a cliff-edge high above the Med, with fabulous views. Fantastic on site restaurant serves locally grown produce to the highest standard. Simple rooms with private balconies boast spectacular views of the orchards and olive groves. Romantic.”

Hotel review

A journey up a twisty, often single track road leads to the impossibly perched medieval village of Peillon and the family-run Auberge de la Madone. Set in a stunning position on the edge of the village, high above Nice, this restaurant with rooms is certainly worth the journey. Sit out on the sunny terrace and relax. The restaurant staff, Maitre D, chef and kitchen team, all know exactly what to do to guarantee a very happy feast. The food is not necessarily Michelin star standard but rest assured you will be entirely satisfied and you won't need to call the bank manager in advance. Bedrooms are fairly small but comfortable and most with spectacular views. And for something to do, visit the village, where time stands still: dark cobbled alleys lead to the church and tall stone houses look over rocky crests and distant forests.
