This historic building which was once the coaching inn of the Bedingfield family’s ancestral home, Oxburgh Hall, is now a friendly B&B inn offering the utmost in comfort and personal attention. Each room, whether in the main building or one of the two coach houses, has a flat screen TV, ensuite bathroom with fluffy towels and toiletries, and pocket-sprung mattresses to ensure a good night’s sleep. The Bedingfield Suite goes above and beyond with under-floor heating, a bathtub, and a romantic four-poster bed draped in floaty fabric that creates a private space all of your own. Four-legged companions are welcome to come along for a nominal fee. Families can be easily accommodated in adjoining rooms. Days can be spent exploring the surrounding area by car or bike or even on foot or horseback. Without even having to leave Oxborough itself, guests can marvel at St John’s Church, a quaint and traditional village church with 16th century terracotta tombs. Also just a five minute walk from the hotel is the famous Oxburgh Manor, once the family home of the Bedingfield Family, now a National Trust Property with a spectacular moat, chapel and even needlework by Mary, Queen of Scots. Local destinations reachable by car include the charming market town of Swaffham, the seaside town of Wells-next-the-sea, and the reconstruction pre-Roman Iceni village. Whether resting your weary feet after a long day out and about, popping down for a lazy lunch or looking for a pint to lift your spirits, you can be sure to find what you need at the Bedingfield Arms pub. Adnams, Bombardier and other local guest beers are served at the bar, and the menu includes such delicious dishes as Pan Fried Pheasant Breast, Roast Topside of Beef and Lightly Spiced Pear and Rolled Oat Crumble.
