Hotel review

In spring the air is filled with the scent of orange blossom, in summer the vibrance of nature takes over and in winter, the mist lingers on the mountains. Fornalutx s one of the prettiest villages (and awarded so) close to Söller. In fact there is a wonderful walk between both places that is well worth doing. There’s something special about Can Verdera - the terraced garden is magical and verdant, filled with ferns, palms, bamboo, lemon trees and fragrant flowers; it has a rare 2m deep pool and stone steps leading to a bar with awesome views over the red tiled rooftops, Tramuntana mountains and valley. Added to this is the wonderful longterm manager Anna who is both warm and welcoming and makes one’s stay even more enjoyable. It’s an intimate hotel of 11 simple rooms with generous bathrooms (some with hot tub bath), retro-style furniture and art in punchy colours. Just breakfast is served, however, there are plenty of restaurants nearby.
