10 Top Hotels near the Champs-Élysées, Paris
Offering clear views between the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Élysées is probably the most famous avenue in Paris. And possibly one of the world’s best known as well. If you don’t know it for its theatres, bars, cafes and boutiques, or for its proximity to Paris’s couture houses you’ll know it as the finish for the Tour de France, or for the annual Bastille Day Military Parade, or for the incredible traffic around the Arc de Triomphe at one end. So for lots of us it’s a great Paris landmark to have a hotel near: you’re a short walk from the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Tuileries, Musée d’Orsay, Les Invalides and Notre Dame. Etc.. Some of the accommodation we’re recommending on our list of 10 top hotels near the Champs-Élysées, Paris even offer views of the Eiffel Tower as well. Some of our Champs-Élysées hotel recommendations are extremely luxurious, but we also have some great value options for those on a tighter budget.
Paris Hotels closest to the Champs-Élysées
- The Hôtel Vernet occupies a gorgeous Haussmann building just steps from the Champs-Élysées. It’s extremely elegant from the outside, and inside it’s been recently renovated and now has a warm, contemporary feel. There are 50 rooms and suites, including family suites, and there’s an incredible atrium over the restaurant, the semi-gourmet Restaurant V.
- On the corner of the Champs-Élysées and Avenue George V, is Fouquet’s Barrière, an historic Napoleon III palace which has had its interiors reimagined into a 21st century Parisian palace by architect Edouard François and designer Jacques Garcia. It’s now one of the hippest hotels in town: the ultimate in style. With your own personal butler. And five restaurants, including the Michelin-stared Le Diane.
For a room with a view
- The Hotel Balzac offers you the opportunity to stay just off the Champs-Élysées, and enjoy your own private view of the Eiffel Tower, with the sort of luxurious, classically French interiors to match. It has 69 rooms and suites, and plenty of them have incredible views, including the Royal Suite, which has both dining and living rooms orientated towards the tower, and a huge private balcony. But if you choose one that doesn’t you can still enjoy Eiffel Tower views from the rooftop and the glamorous lounge bar. The Hotel Balzac’s dining salon has a boudoir-esque feel with vibrant velvet sofas and Louis XIV chairs. And right next door is one of Paris’s three Michelin-starred restaurants.
- Just off the Avenue Montaigne, which is where you’ll find Dior, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Chanel etc., the Hotel San Régis is a small, intimate feeling five star hotel converted from a 19th century townhouse, and needless to say, popular with the fashion set! Behind its neoclassical façade, its 42 rooms have a country house style, and a feeling of comfortable luxury. There’s a fine dining restaurant and an intimate, English-style bar and salon. And some of the rooms and suites at the top of the hotel have Eiffel Tower views.
- La Réserve is a charming, 19th century hotel in a Haussman building on the coveted Avenue Gabriel, which channels Belle Époque charm in its 40 luxurious rooms. The best rooms and suites have Eiffel Tower views, and the very best have private balconies facing the tower. But even the hotel’s least fancy rooms are gorgeous, with parquet floors, marble bathrooms and silk hung on the walls.
The Most Luxurious Hotels near the Champs-Élysées
- The Hôtel Grand Powers is luxurious alright, but rather than all plush velvet and gilt, it’s got the kind of decor that many of us would love to have at home if we could afford it: custom-made furniture in an Art Deco style with beautiful smooth lines and marblesque finishes, gorgeous parquet flooring and rugs, beautifully chosen lamps and art, plenty of brass accents and silk and quality linens — it’s just lovely! Even the spa is made of marble. Set against gorgeous original features and big, Parisian windows. This is modern Parisian style at its best in the heart of the Paris Golden Triangle of attractions about 750metres from the Arc de Triomphe.
- For classic Parisian glamour and luxury try the Hôtel de Crillon. This gorgeous building used to be a palace, and has just recently reopened, in 2019, after a four year refurbishment that has revitalised and reinforced the beautiful neoclassical design and decor, but brought it into the 21st century. Now the 78 rooms and suites have the look of the most refined modern Paris apartments. Its location is superb, between the Champs-Élysées and the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay. There’s a range of dining options, from the restaurant to more private dining experiences, and there’s a spa with a beautiful pool with gold fish scale tiles.
Romantic Hotels near the Champs-Élysées
- Once the favourite of Marlene Dietrich, the Hotel Lancaster has recently been carefully restored and sumptuously decorated, so it looks similar to the very finest of Paris’s luxury private townhouses, and it may again have that 1930s starry elegance. Private townhouses don’t have Michelin-stared restaurants, though, or a lively, enchanting Salon Berri bar with its list of delicious sounding cocktails. Take the original red leather lift to your lovely bedroom, one of 57 rooms and suites, and admire some of the original art and furniture.
For a family friendly hotel
- The Hotel Francois 1er is a luxurious residence with 40 rooms and suites decorated with traditional luxury in mind: think elegant antiques and works of art. There’s a sophisticated bar and salon, where they serve breakfast, but there’s no restaurant. This hotel manages to be both romantic and family friendly.
For great value
- This is an expensive part of town to stay in, but we can recommend a great value hotel in a great location on a quiet street running parallel to the Champs-Élysées. The Hotel Mathis has an elegant lobby with a black and gold Art Deco look, then just 25 rooms and suites, decorated simply but stylishly in sage, pink and grey tones, and with feature wallpapers or interesting local art. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant but they do offer breakfast. Some of the suites can accommodate families too.
