Why do people love staying with you? The fact that we offer lots of private space. Our big verandas also give you the opportunity to live outside and create a homely feeling with a high level but not intrusive service. The fact that you can have all your meals on your private veranda without dressing up. Our pool is also conceptualized as a ‘5th cottage’ where you walk in through a door and is naturally fences so it doesn’t become ‘a meat show’. Additional by respecting the traditional style of building creates a kind of village feeling. By being close to our guests we’re also able to provide the information they need and/or want in an informal way. In short : we come to you, no need to come to us ! and in case any big need or emergency every cottage has its own cell phone with pre-programmed numbers. What is there to do in the area? Of course there’s the beach for long walks or just enjoy swimming (for the stronger swimmers only at times), by doing our village tour you can enjoy the natural beauty & local handicrafts, village life, the mix of the different religions. But also a small canal tour in Aleppey or Kumarakom area will show you a real insight on what the backwaters are. Or even a visit to Fort Cochin is possible via the beach road. What kind of breakfast do you offer? Free choice of continental or Kerala style breakfast but always with fresh juice, fresh cut fruits. This all served on your veranda ! Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We offer all meals. In the morning the chef or manager comes to you to go through your day meal journey. From a salad with some fresh fish, a pasta, a traditional Kerala lunch to our Kerala style dinner spiced at your personal level but if you prefer it continental style we’ll do as well but always with our fresh seafood as the key player. Which are your most popular room types, and why? By having only 4 cottages it’s very often : first come first served. Then our sea view cottages (Khombu & Nagaswarm) en the pool villa (Violin) are first on the list. But also our Sitar beach garden cottage does well as it offers for me the most privacy and has a garden platform for multi purpose use from reading to dinner service ! What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? A fenced garden is already a big plus, for the very small we can give a small plastic pool but our first 2 steps of the pool are extra large & shallow so they function as a play zone for our smallest guests but of course only under supervision, some garden games and it wouldn’t be India if the staff are not attracted to the junior guests.
