It’s no wonder that when the English comic actor Terry Thomas stumbled upon this finca in the 1960s, while riding through the area, he fell in love with it. He converted the 440-year-old building, which sits up high overlooking the Mediterranean, and today it is run by his son and daughter-in-law, who welcome guests to what was one of the island’s first agroturismi. There are six double rooms, all en-suite and each decorated in an individual style. Meals are cooked using only the freshest of ingredients, all sourced from local farms and markets. The garden is a horticultural heaven; there’s a nursery garden with two greenhouses, and an array of exotic plants including pale pink river oleanders and cacti.

"It is easy to imagine the house as a family home, as there are only a handful of rooms and the vibe is intimate and casual, with just the right amount of luxury without feeling pretentious or formal . It is very romantic and perfect for special occasions."

"It affords spellbinding views from its hilltop position near the village of Sant Carlos in the north of the island, high above the bays of Cala Mastella and Cala Llenya."
