Santa Cruz has enjoyed a steady rise in popularity among wine lovers visiting Chile; a beautiful green expanse within the Colchagua Valley, Santa Cruz boasts a plethora of high-end wineries set against the beautiful backdrop of the Andes. Within easy reach of Santiago, it's the perfect pit-stop on a longer wine tour of the country. Casa Silva is what in Chile is referred to as a 'Casona' or country house. Guest accommodation is located within the main house which is over 100 years old and beautifully restored. The house sits within the broader grounds of the winery and vineyards, which also include a pretty but modest-sized pool and picturesque courtyard with al fresco dining. At just seven rooms the hotel is boutique, perfect for a group or family stay. The guestrooms are exquisite, with plenty of original heritage features complemented by antique furnishings and local linens. A verandah runs along the outside of the main house providing much-needed shade in the hot summers. Breakfast is served in the bright and airy breakfast room; guests can choose to reserve in-house dinners in advance which can be served inside or in the courtyard. There is plenty to do within the grounds, from bike riding to polo and, of course, wine tasting. There is a cosy sitting room where you can relax with a glass of Reserva Cuvée Colchagua at the end of the day. A tranquil country escape, great for wine lovers.

Further south in Colchagua, Casa Silva’s century-old family home in the vineyard also moonlights as a boutique hotel.
