Hotel review

Set above Meads Bay - without doubt one of the finest beaches in the region - its 55 luxurious rooms and suites look north and west from a rocky promontory over the island's surreal blue sea. Where so many hotels in Anguilla have striking, ultra modern architecture, Malliouhana's inspiration is more classic, coming from Cap d'Antibes, and it stands tall with slender columns and arches in white render, topped with angled terra cotta roofs. And the hotel has something of the sophistication of the South of France too. It is the favoured winter haunt of a well-heeled clientele in a mix of nationalities, who gather by day on the spectacular sand, at the beach bistro (where there is a children's area - Malliouhana caters well for families) and in the full service spa. In the evenings they gravitate towards the genteel setting of the cliff-top dining room with its exceptional French cuisine. A Leading Small Hotel of the World, Malliouhana Hotel and Spa is extremely comfortable and offers a trusty escape for a smart and cosmopolitan crowd.
