“Ancient hamlet turned country house hotel, within striking distance of historic Gubbio. Eclectic features meet with wooden floors, beamed ceilings and simple elegant furnishings in the carefully restored rooms. Wonderful infinity pool with country views, and fantastic local seasonal food. Heaven!”

Hotel review

The Borgo di Carpiano started life as far back as the 10th century, when it was a small hamlet with a castle. Later additions included a 17th century church which has now been converted into a library and drawing room and features outstanding original frescoes. The entire group of buildings has been carefully and tastefully restored and now provides elegant accommodation. Many of the rooms feature dark wooden floors, beamed ceilings and furniture, all of which is contrasted with stylish white fabrics and walls. The feel is simple yet sophisticated. Food is as locally sourced as possible - the bread is made on site and many of the vegetables grown in the garden. Cooking classes are available on request if you've grown bored of lounging by the infinity pool with a good book!
