Hotel Excelsior, Dubrovnik, Croatia
'The main pulls here are the fantastic sea views and proximity to Dubrovnik's medieval-walled Old Town, clearly visible across the water. While the modern wing is a little garish — think lots of mirrored glass — you shouldn't be put off by the exterior. This is a big five-star hotel with facilities aplenty.'
