Hotel Review

Immersed in a jungle-like garden with over 900 different species of plants, this sublimely tranquil oasis designed by renowned landscape architects Eric Ossart and Arnaud Maurières, offers a heavenly escape. For groups and couples who appreciate an eco-friendly place in nature oozing with character and charm. A short drive from the ancient ramparts of Taroudant in a somewhat sophisticated suburb, lies this discreet paradise. Run by the engaging proprietor Olivier, emphasis is on the abundant garden with its countless rare species of cacti and succulents, inhabited by peacocks, tortoises, frogs, 21 happy cats and the odd drowsy dog. A sunken garden was created in the middle of the property and the quarried earth used to form individual rammed earth pisé buildings around the perimeter, used for guest accommodation. These charming bungalows offer utmost seclusion, with en suite bedroom/bathrooms, indoor and outdoor sitting areas. With a spa/hammam, two pools, plus several salons with generous windows allowing for inspiring vistas of the exotic environs and a raised restaurant serving decent European and local cuisine it’s hard to find a reason to leave the compound. A magical place to stay where truly delightful staff are always on hand to proffer drinks, light fires and help with luggage.

We’re just 60kms away from Agadir Int’l airport, 3 hours from Marrakesh and a few minutes away from the medina hence the property is quiet, offers more space, a unique garden designed by the famous pair of garden designers Ossart & Maurières… with over 900 species of desert plants, our gardens are renowned as among the best contemporary Mediterranean gardens.
Dar al Hossoun offers a nice combination of tradition and modern comfort… each room and space is very comfortable and unique in terms of configuration and decoration, based on local traditional handicrafts, earthware and textiles.
