There are few alpine villages as spectacular as Zermatt, positioned at the base of the Matterhorn, and offering easy access to the ski slopes — including some of the highest ski runs in the Alps, year round glacier skiing, and some rather charming nursery slopes. It does have a reputation for luxury, and has some very beautiful hotels, and a fantastic restaurant scene, but it’s not all glamorous après-ski, there’s also plenty of luxury hot chocolate and family friendly fondu. Along with some great off-slope activities - like a cinema, museums, and a wonderful railway journey, the Gornergrat Railway, which shows you 29 4000meter peaks! This is the perfect spot for creating enduring family memories, whether you’re looking for something luxurious yourselves, or you’d prefer an all-inclusive ski resort, or a self-catering apartment or villa.
