Understandably as Cowes’ first ever boutique hotel, this has become something of a popular haunt with locals and those seeking a hip, contemporary hotel on the island. Set within a Grade II Listed townhouse close to the harbour, the interior has been sensitively done to maintain original features while providing every comfort and detail expected. The Oyster Store dining room is relaxed with a lively atmosphere at night, The food is excellent with a menu that focuses on classic fish and seafood dishes. Staff are friendly and attentive. Rooms are divided into ‘cosy’, ‘comfort’ or ‘spacious’ - all with super kingsize beds, Egyptian cotton sheets and bathrooms with walk-in rain showers, some with roll-top baths and double sinks. The overall feel is that of understated chic -with Farrow & Ball colours, and neutral linens and nice touches such as scented candles and REN products. Breakfast is an enjoyable affair and can be taken on the terrace in summer.
