“A hotel version of a show stopper with city-lake panorama views, luxurious charm and downtown situ. Muted colours make up the modern, sophisticated rooms. Tableau 1940s inspired lounge oozes sexy, serving French cuisine and fine wines. Whether visiting for business or leisure, location is spot on! ”

Hotel review

In Coal Harbour's quiet corner of downtown Vancouver, The Loden emerges as that increasingly rare find: a genuinely 'boutique' hotel where personalised service transcends marketing speak - and the views are the best in the city.

The lobby offers snacks while the concierge proves useful for booking restaurants, but don’t miss the hotel’s atmospheric French joint, Tableau.

Mid-century modern rooms are bedecked in designer fixtures and fittings, all stone and copper. Go high for mountain views and wraparound balconies, some complete with Buddha statues to complement your in-room yoga mat. Expect deep spa tubs, good soundproofing, and luxurious bathrooms.

Nightly turn-down treats appear like magic - think silver platters and luxury chocolates. Televisions are slightly dated (no screen casting available), but this almost feels deliberate in a property that prioritises human connection. That said, the VIP lounge offers a quiet place to work, and the BeFit fitness studio is big enough not to bump into other guests (though the spa is tiny).

Near to leafy Stanley Park and a five-minute walk from the Vancouver Convention Centre, The Loden balances ‘bleisure’ travel and discrete luxury (another nice touch: electric vehicles return fully charged from the valet). Child-free travellers will appreciate the grown up atmosphere, but everyone will love the best thing about The Loden - not having to lift a finger.
