There’s more to Oxfordshire than ethereal ‘dreaming spires’, pretty Thames-side villages, the thatched roofed cottages of the Cotswolds and the rolling Chilterns, these are but some of the charms of this archetypally English county. • The Star Inn is a really charming inn on the outskirts of the historic town of Wantage, and overlooking picturesque countryside. The eight light and airy rooms are traditionally decorated with white-washed walls, exposed beams and sink-into beds. And impressive pub fare is served in the restaurant using the best local produce.
